The Staple Tool in Every Textured Hair Bathroom

Whether you have loose curls or tighter, afro curls, there is one hair tool you must keep in your bathroom: the applicator bottle. Read on to find out why!

There are plenty of important hair tools to keep in your bathroom - hair ties, banana clips, and a shower mirror - but there is one tool that can make any natural hair wash day painless: applicator bottles.

Why buy them?

These trusty plastic bottles are cheap, and they can be bought in bulk at your local beauty supply store.  Applicator bottles are great tools to use to apply oils, shampoos, or rinses to your scalp.  If you have afro textured hair, you will definitely want to invest in a few applicator bottles.

Using applicator bottles will also help to reduce the chances of creating messes in the bathroom.  The bottles themselves have small, short tips that can easily dispense the product onto your hair.  Ladies with tighter curls might have problems getting to the root; applicator bottles solve this problem!

Great for DIY projects!

If you are a “mixologist” - meaning that you like to create your own handmade hair concoctions, you might also enjoy purchasing applicator bottles, as many of them have lines on them to help you measure how much product you use (and have left). Check out the two recipes below for homemade oil blends that you can create using applicator bottles.

Recipe: Two DIY Oil Blends

For example, you can easily make your own hair oil blend by mixing 2 ounces of extra virgin olive oil, one ounce of sweet almond oil, half an ounce of Jamaican Black Castor Oil, and a few drops of lavender or rosemary essential oil.

For looser textures, try mixing 2 ounces of sweet almond oil with 1 ounce grapeseed oil, and a few drops of your favorite essential oil for scent (such as lavender, rosemary, or peppermint essential oil).

If you do not have one (or twelve!) yet, consider stopping by your local beauty supply store and picking some up.  You may get lucky and find applicator bottles with tips specifically designed to reach the root, like the one below.

Because applicator bottles are usually cheap, you can buy as many as you like and use them for multiple purposes: an oil blend, a leave-in conditioner, or a shampoo.  Applicator bottles can help to save you time and money in the long run.
